Throughout this year, Jo will be collaborating with her personal selection of phenomenal guest teachers, each one an expert of their craft.  One of these inspired partnerships is with Marawa the Amazing, international hula-hooping star. Marawa has performed all over the world including The Paul O’Grady Show, Australia’s Got Talent, and even for the King and Queen of Sweden! Joining our very own burlesque dance guru, Jo King for this incredible “First Time Ever” 3-hour workshop, is international hula-hoop star, Marawa the Amazing. With their combined teaching skills you will be introduced to both the most popular traditional burlesque moves and the fascinating spinning techniques of hula hooping. Be prepared for an exciting full body work-out with sexy shimmies and hoops of fun!

Another of our guest teachers is international dance sensation Josephine Shaker, a vivacious vaudeville performer who specialises in rhythm tap and Charleston dancing. Josephine was taught the Charleston by her grandmother who was an original Tivoli chorus girl.

In this cheeky “First Time Ever” 3-hour workshop Josephine Shaker will teach you how to perform an authentic Charleston just like a true flapper, followed by a choreographed “cheesecake-style” burlesque routine with Jo King.  This will be an invigorating adventure in dance and theatricality.

We are also delighted that the reigning Alternative Miss World and adored burlesque personality Fancy Chance will be joining us in February. She hails from a background of cabaret, theatre and performance art and is, undoubtedly, the best tassel twirler east of the Atlantic.

Our third “First Time Ever” workshop of 2010 sees the perfect marriage of burlesque teaching skills. First you will be taught how to perform an elegant and glamorous striptease routine by Jo King, queen of the ‘tease’.

Please note: You will be taught how to remove your bra in order to learn an abundance of mesmerising, eye-popping tricks from the fantastic tassel twirling tornado, Fancy Chance. You can bring your own tassels or buy them directly from us.

This totally unique, holistic, giggle ‘n’ grind experience introduces you to the incredibly therapeutic benefits of Laughter Yoga. Using wonderfully uplifting, innovative techniques; “Mistress of Merriment and Mirth” Leela Bunce will show you how to reduce your stress levels and flood your system with feel-good endorphins!

Once your inhibitions have dissolved, Jo King will teach you a saucy, choreographed burlesque routine.
